How to Power Wash House in 5 Easy Steps?

Power washing a house is a great way to clean it thoroughly and remove any built-up dirt, mold, or mildew. It’s also a great way to prepare your home for painting or staining. Follow these five easy steps to power wash house like a pro!

  1. Choose the right pressure washer. You’ll need a pressure washer that produces at least 2,000 pounds per square inch (PSI) of pressure and has a flow rate of at least 4 gallons per minute (GPM).
  2. Set up your pressure washer. Connect the garden hose to the water inlet on the pressure washer and turn on the water.  Place the pressure washer on a flat, level surface and make sure the hose is connected to a water supply. Then, connect the pressure washer hose to the outlet on the machine.

  3. Choose the right tip for your pressure washer. There are different tips that can be used with a pressure washer, each of which produces a different effect. For example, a 15-degree tip is great for general cleaning, while a 0-degree tip should be used for more stubborn stains.
  4. Begin pressure washing. Start at the top of the house and work your way down. Use slow, even strokes and be sure to keep the tip of the pressure washer about 12 inches from the surface of the house. Overlap each stroke by about 6 inches to ensure that you don’t miss any spots.
  5. Rinse the house. Once you’re finished pressure washing, use the hose to rinse off any remaining soap or dirt. Then, turn off the pressure washer and disconnect all of the hoses.
